Exercise in Communicating Feeling: Training for Telepathy

Pick your partner and say, “On this day we will attempt to communicate to each other something about which we each feel strongly.” It can be anything. Perhaps that day you have seen a magnificent painting that has stimulated you and filled you with awe. Perhaps you have seen something that has upset you or warmed your heart — something profound. Take a week, and if you don’t see anything, then seek it out. Go to galleries or places of amusement; go be among the people. And do not deny your feelings when you see something.

Then when you are with your friend or partner say, “I will impart this to you.” Do not tell him what to expect. Reexperience what you have seen; see and feel again what you felt then. Remember your feelings, and when you are fully visualizing that event, place your hand (preferably the palm of your right hand; if using the left hand, use its back), holding it anywhere from 14 to 16 inches from the solar plexus or the heart area of the other person (avoid the heart area if it is something tragic or upsetting). If the person feels nothing and they ask you to do so, move your hand closer. Touching is unnecessary and can be a distraction.

Practice with your partner as often as is convenient, first one, then the other. If you wish to test yourself, after you get the feeling say, “Okay, I have it now.” Stay with the feelings or pictures and write down what you are feeling in your body, such as, “My stomach feels tight, my gut is churning” or “I feel total relaxation, almost like I’m ready to sleep.” If you got pictures, don’t question them, just write it down. And don’t compare notes until you are done for the evening.

This is training for telepathy?

It is training for true telepathy. Don’t name or describe the emotion you were feeling, but what you were physiologically feeling: “I felt warmth” or “I felt tingling.” And if you saw something, say, “I had a flash of a mountaintop” or “I saw myself looking at a four-way cloverleaf from above.” Don’t question it. Whatever it is, write it down.

The idea is to discover that you all feel emotions and visualize in much the same way. The mechanics are the same. And that is the universal language. Granted, there are colors, tones, even math in the universal language, but this goes beyond a language between people.

Let us say that you are a farmer and you discover that there is something wrong with your best milk cow that the vet can’t identify. The cow appears to be unsettled and skittish, and it is affecting her milk production. You can’t just say, “The heck with it!” You have to do something.

So you walk over to your cow (she is used to having you around, so she does not mind) and reach your hand out, filling yourself with love and concern (not worry, but compassion).
